Dacia for Oregon

Our Work

Redefine possible
in funding education

The strength of Oregon’s schools, and its educators, define the success of our communities now and in the future.

  • Our children deserve K-12 funding that reflects the state’s commitment to the wellbeing and high performance of students, staff, and administrators. I will fight for that funding.

  • Oregon schools suffer from chronic absenteeism. We must build collaborative relationships between parents and schools to ensure students are getting the support and motivation they need to show up and excel.

  • It’s imperative that we hold our individual school districts accountable for how they prioritize spending. Deferred maintenance, unnecessary school closures, and prioritizing administrative programs over classroom funding cannot continue. I will support stronger oversight measures for our district’s operational budgets and decision-making.

  • As our students and their needs become more diverse, so too must our workforce and approaches to learning. I will support programs that seek out new ways to enable growth and connection between teachers and students on foundational education such as reading, writing, math, and science.

Heal our communities
suffering from addiction

The impacts of Oregon’s addiction crisis are far-reaching, and our systems of care struggle to meet the demand.

  • I will fight for meaningful results on new treatment centers, drop-off sites, safe rest villages, and in-roads to recovery.

  • Our behavioral health frontline workforce needs significant investment and support to meet the volume of need that has been thrust upon them. I will support programs aimed at recruitment and retention of these dedicated workers as they safely guide our community members out of the throes of addiction.

  • Public safety partnerships across the board are critical to ensuring our neighborhoods and social spaces are both safe and accessible. Building a new era of Portland prosperity means ensuring everyone feels welcome and able to get outdoors and be active in their community.

  • I will hold our criminal justice system accountable for ensuring that recent re-criminalization laws do not disproportionately impact marginalized communities and communities of color.

Elevate the lives of working families

As corporate profits continue to skyrocket, we must expand high-road labor standards that will ensure a fair economy working for all.

  • Anyone working a full-time job should be able to afford a home, utilities, groceries, and still have enough leftover to save or invest for their future. I will fight for policies that establish a livable wage, improve quality of life, and lower the cost of living for workers and working families all across Oregon.

  • As we welcome new industries across the state, I will fight to ensure that Oregon’s local workforce is prioritized for hiring through local apprenticeships, as well as protecting against harm through rigorous compliance with Oregon’s workplace safety standards.

  • Equal opportunity employment protections are critical as Oregon’s workforce becomes increasingly diverse. I will fight against workplace discrimination, and ensure accessible paths to work for marginalized communities, LGBTQ+ communities, communities of color, and our immigrant community.

Protect Oregon's future through climate resilience

Oregon is vulnerable to the immediate impacts of climate change, and is feeling its effects in heat domes, wildfires, and volatile winters.

  • I will continue to lead the way on infrastructure investments that will make us more climate resilient and carbon neutral.

  • We are one of the only states to have never experienced its worst potential natural disaster. If we are not adequately prepared, a Cascadia-level event will cause thousands of deaths and trillions in damage, and I commit to bolstering our disaster resilience, as well as our ability for local emergency managers to respond effectively to any scenario.

  • Addressing our housing crisis should not come at the expense of our environment. To make us truly climate resilient we need to prioritize infilling around service centers and do our best to avoid the sprawl that infringes on our greenspaces. I will look critically at all housing policy to first and foremost understand its environmental impact.

Commit to a transparent
and accountable government

Oregon’s government is only as good as we hold it accountable to be.

  • Constituents of HD-28 have been clear: we don’t mind paying taxes to improve our community, so long as we see real, tangible results across the state. I am prioritizing a renewed standard of excellence in implementation, accountability, and transparency from all levels of government.

  • I will partner with our public agencies to identify barriers in getting services out to constituents, and will fight to remove those obstacles. We must push for the delivery of value and services to be streamlined, effective, and highly efficient.

  • The infrastructure of SW Portland continues to fall into disrepair through lack of promised investment, and I will hold our government partners accountable for making good on those promises.
